About Mel

Mel joined the NOVA team as Jeff Mitchell’s Executive Assistant. Her organizational skills and enthusiasm for her work help keep NOVA and Jeff on the right track.

Born in Turkey, Mel is an immigrant and global expat. She moved to Nova Scotia at 15 for an exchange program in high school and decided to stay. Mel has an International Baccalaureate Diploma and a B.A. in Psychology from Saint Mary’s University. She has an extensive customer service background in the Halifax hospitality industry and is a former bartender.

Her time outside of work is spent writing, playing Dungeons and Dragons, knitting and hanging out with her birds.
