Kallen Heenan
Kallen joined NOVA Injury Law in May of 2020, and completed his articling year before staying on with the firm as a Litigation Lawyer.
Born in Halifax, Kallen obtained his Business Management Degree, with distinction, and his Law Degree, from Dalhousie University. During his time at Dalhousie, Kallen captained the Varsity Men’s Soccer Team and was a multiple time Academic All-Canadian and Dean’s List recipient. During his free time, Kallen volunteered at different initiatives, including the St. Andrew’s United Church homeless shelter and the Dalhousie Special Tigers program.
During law school, Kallen was a constant advocate for client rights, and spent two years volunteering with the Legal Information Services of Nova Scotia, guiding underprivileged clients through Nova Scotia’s Small Claims Court System. Kallen has spent much of his time in law school focusing on client advocacy and building trial skills. He has appeared before the Small Claims Court and Nova Scotia Supreme Court on behalf of clients.
Kallen is in a unique position to understand the injuries of his clients, having himself been involved in an accident in 2016 from which he suffered from chronic pain. Kallen uses this experience to better understand the full effects of an injury on his clients, and to turn this empathy into strong advocacy for those he serves.
In his spare time, Kallen enjoys hiking, exercising, playing soccer and reading and is always ready to share a laugh.
