Laura Mitchell
Dr. Laura Mitchell is the Chief Medical Consultant at NOVA Injury Law. Her expertise as a family physician, coupled with her specialized training in emergency medicine, provides her with an exceptional ability to appreciate both the immediate and ongoing management of injuries.
She completed her undergraduate work at UPEI. She then finished medical school and a family medicine residency at Memorial. After working as a rural/remote family physician in Newfoundland and Labrador, She committed to furthering her skills in Emergency Medicine by undertaking additional residency training at Dalhousie University in British Columbia.
She has worked at four different hospitals in Nova Scotia and appreciates how the resources of the medical system impact the treatment of accident and injury victims across the province. In addition to her clinical work, she is committed to advancing her interests in Occupational Medicine, a field that involves workplace health and safety, assessing disability and ability to work. Laura achieved an Associate Membership to the Canadian Board of Occupational Medicine in 2020.
