About Katherine
Katherine was born and raised in Bridgewater, Nova Scotia. She attended Saint Mary’s University where she graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts; double major in Criminology and Psychology. During her time at SMU, she worked as a Mental Health Peer Supporter and Residence Assistant and was Co-President and Co-Founder of the SMU Music Society.
Following graduation, she gained experience working in various areas of the Justice System including Victim Services with both the Department of Justice and Halifax Regional Police, the Nova Scotia Public Prosecution Service, Halifax Provincial Court, and the Elizabeth Fry Society’s Abundance Program. She has been a volunteer with Halifax Regional Police’s Victim Services unit for over 5 years. Katherine is very passionate about being an advocate for folks who are going through a difficult time.
In her spare time, Katherine enjoys singing and writing music, cooking, being in nature, and spending time with friends, family, and her cat Archie.
